And look at some of her other issues in no particular order:

Palin is pro-life </wiki/Pro-life>, pro-contraception, and a prominent
member of Feminists for Life </wiki/Feminists_for_Life>.^
<#cite_note-36> While running for Governor of Alaska, Palin supported
the open debate of creationism </wiki/Creationism> alongside evolution
</wiki/Evolution> in schools; however, she noted that "creationism
doesn't have to be part of the curriculum" and that she would not use
"religion as a litmus test, or anybody's personal opinion on evolution
or creationism" as criteria for selection to the school board.

Highlights of Governor Palin's tenure include a successful push for an
ethics bill
</w/index.php?title=House_Bill_109_%282007_Alaska_law%29&action=edit&redlink=1>,

and also shelving pork-barrel </wiki/Pork_barrel> projects supported by
fellow Republicans. After federal funding for the Gravina Island Bridge
</wiki/Gravina_Island_Bridge> project that had become a nationwide
symbol of wasteful earmark </wiki/Earmark_%28politics%29> spending was
lost, Palin decided against filling the over $200 million gap with state
money. "Alaska needs to be self-sufficient, she says, instead of relying
heavily on 'federal dollars,' as the state does today."

She has challenged the state's Republican leaders, helping to launch a
campaign by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell </wiki/Sean_Parnell> to
unseat U.S. Congressman Don Young </wiki/Don_Young> and publicly
challenging Senator Ted Stevens </wiki/Ted_Stevens> to come clean about
the federal investigation into his financial dealings.

Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil
and Gas Conservation Commission, where she served from 2003 to 2004
until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of
fellow Alaskan Republican </wiki/Republican_Party_%28United_States%29>
leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations
and conflicts of interest.^ After she resigned, she exposed the state
Republican Party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas
commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public
time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail. Palin filed
formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney
General </wiki/Attorney_General> Gregg Renkes, who both resigned;
Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.

In response to high oil and gas prices, and in response to the resulting
state government budget surplus, Palin proposed giving Alaskans
$100-a-month energy debit cards. She also proposed providing grants to
electrical utilities so that they would reduce customers' rates. She
subsequently dropped the debit card proposal, and in its place she
proposed to send Alaskans $1,200 directly and eliminate the gas tax.

In the first days of her administration, Palin followed through on a
campaign promise </wiki/Campaign_promise> to sell the Westwind II
</wiki/Westwind_II> jet purchased (on a state government credit account)
by the Murkowski administration. The state placed the jet for sale on
eBay </wiki/EBay> three times. In August 2007, the jet was sold for
$2.1 million.

So yeah, she is pro-life, but she is also for people practicing
*responsible* sex, which if it were to ever take root would all but
eliminate the need for pro-choice/pro-life debates since most of the
abortions that are performed are by people practicing irresponsible sex.
And yeah, she is a creationist, but she does not let her beliefs
interferer with posting people on the school board.
And she is against pork barrel spending.
And she is against corrupt unethical politicians, even those in her own
party.
And she thinks that her constituents should be allowed to reap the
benefits of a state budget surplus.
And she showed that she can keep a campaign promise.

I can go on, but I think that you get the point.
