IMO, shouldn't diminish the fact that she took those actions. First off...
she made a promise while campaigning and actually kept it. Second... I'd
imagine 'artificially inflated" is a subjective viewpoint. I think most of
the oil companies profits are artificially inflated, but I don't see any of
their CEOs rushing to slash their salaries. Artificially inflated or not...
whatever the salary was was the "going rate" and she stepped up and made a
change. Not seeing a downside here.

I simply can't believe that this is true. If it does come to light later
that it is, I'll be the first to apologize... but for now, I just do not
believe it. When I first heard the story I thought it was broken by the
Enquirer or some other such reputable outlet :)

While the republican ticket has a relatively inexperienced person being a
heartbeat away from the most powerful position on the planet, the dem ticket
has a relatively inexperienced person being a majority vote away from the
most powerful position on the planet. The relative amount of inexperience
on both tickets is worrisome to me.

Well, you made the point yourself. Maybe low-hanging fruit (but again, i'd
argue that's a subjective perspective), but it still would have been much
easier for her to look the other way.

For what it's worth, I'm not trying to suggest that she's the "best our
country has to offer"... but boy I can't remember ever walking in to vote
feeling like I was voting for the "best our country has to offer" as much as
I was voting for the person or ticket that I disliked the least. Not trying
to come off as a Palin apologist or insinuate that she's the perfect
candidate. I just don't think she's completely evil incarnate :)
