I said "I bet" not "I know" and it is racism. It's my opinion the
majority of the non-western world thinks the western world is full of
racists who are determined to keep them down.

The election of a black man - for US president no less - would have a
signaling effect to the World: "The US is a meritocracy and democratic
capitalism is egalitarian".

It would provide a standard for hope and name of it would be the United States.

My opinion, of course.

To get into HLS you have to be the absolute best of the best at
critical thinking. You have to score near perfect on the LSAT which
means that now only do you have to be able to solve problems - and
subjective ones at that - but you have to do it extremely quickly; no
time to doddle.

Beyond that you have to have all the other pre-reqs: good grades,
essay, interview, blah blah blah.

Then, if you get in, you have to compete with "gunners". You are now
trying to out critical think the best most motivated critical thinking
in the country (and world). Obama did that. He graduated at the top
of his class.

I can tell you from personal experience that the hoops are enormous.
Anyone can take a CF test. To get into HLS you have to be the
best-of-the-best just to apply.

To get in and then to be the best there puts you as one of the best in
the world.

Your point is like saying that Michael Phelps only knows about
swimming. Except he also knows about training, nutrition, discipline,
motivation, and personal challenge.  He didn't just show up for meets;
he excelled consistently for years. Few can do that even poorly, but
even fewer can do it and win.

But then Obama went on to teach law at U of Chicago. This is "T5" law
school; read, again, best of the best. Constant challenge by the
best.

But maybe, best of all, is his choice of spouse.

A dude like that can probably have his choice of just about anyone he
wants. But what does he choose? Not just a smart woman, and
exceptionally smart woman. And not just an exceptionally smart woman,
but a spirited, challenging, opinionated, head-strong woman.

For me, there's probably no better indicator of a person than their
choice spouse.

And you can't be married for a decade and half to Michele Obama
without some SERIOUS diplomatic and critical thinking skills.
