It's not specific to MS SQL, but I totally recommend "SQL For
Smarties" by Joe Celko.  It's very good. and have a good little
library of SQL ninja tricks in it.

Some great reading on MS SQL Server stuff is at
http://www.sql-server-performance.com/
Great performance articles, indexes, etc, but also some great SQL
tricks and neat ways to do things in SQL.
