It's not that they have been predicting this meltdown; it's that they understand that economies constantly "breath in and out" over long periods of time, and that there is a lot to be acquired when you're in a position of strength when the lungs are emptiest just before the inhale. Some people call them "vulture capitalists," and they're fine with that moniker because they know it's the most technically accurate thing you could call them. That, and they respect vultures, as they should. Never shoot a vulture. They are very important parts of the chain of life. They live off carrion, so they don't take food away from the hunts of other animals, and they keep the landscape clean.
