Well it switched to "lipstick", then "sexist", now it's "workers". I heard Bill Maher say tonight that the average American is too dumb to be governed; that he/she has no capacity to form or analyze reasoned arguments and instead focuses on emotional arguments and inflection - like "pow", "lipstick", "victory", "smoke their holes", et al. That seems right. And of course that analysis will be attacked by emotion rather reason. For if this is not true, then how do we explain polls that jump for pretty face, moose, or "drill baby drill". E.g., there's 30+M acres of offshore oil fields that could be drilled today, but nobody does it because it would be stupid. Yet, people still respond to "drill baby drill". So I wonder if anyone has a non-emotional explanation to this phenomena?
