"other developments", i can maybe see (ocho cinco anyone?). but the hochuli
thing seems to be getting blown way out of proportion. he's one of the
better refs in the league.... but alas, he's human. he made a bad call. it
happens.

it happened to the giants vs san fran in the NFC wildcard game back in 02.
if you recall, the giants had a 38-14 lead in the 3rd quarter. it should
have been over. niners rally and they're up by 1 at the end. giants have
time for a field goal... but miss. there was a botched call that the league
said *should* have resulted in the giants getting another opportunity to
kick... but ..well, it was botched. the next day many giants fans were
screaming about how the refs lost the game for us (yes, i'm a giants fan).
i didn't see it that way. you don't let a team that you're beating by 24
points come back in teh last quarter and then blame the loss on a single
botched call.

good calls happen (more often than most of us acknowledge). bad calls also
happen. they're part of the game. it's the human factor and it has always
been a part of the game.
