As President, I stand here before you as a man you've twice elected to lead your country. Each of my terms has been marked with a singular crisis of my own creation. In my first term I invaded a country that had not attacked America, posed no threat to us, and served only as a distraction and resource black hole. It will cost over a trillion of your dollars. It has killed 5000+ and wounded 50,000+ of your friends, family, and neighbors and it isn't over. It has returned nothing for your investment, and likely never will. It was a mistake. And then, for some ludicris notion, and despite my obvious judgment failures, you elected me to a second term. During that term I continued my slow assault on your civil liberties, gutted the justice department - an institution intended to keep you safe, continued with my long distraction from enemies who attacked America both external, such as Bin Laden, but internal such as our economy. Which brings me here today. My second term has been marked by the costliest financial crisis in history. One very preventable, one I was warned of years prior to its fruition. Yes Americans, I could own up to these self-inflicted debacles with courage and honor. But I won't. Because that type of behavior isn't in my value system. Or yours. Instead I will do what my voters expect of me: blame others, ask for even more power, and wave flags. You may cheer now.
