G, We just got here last night (AM really, about 3:00 AM after a short flight by Chinook and then convoy by MRAP). I We are starting our transition and when that is complete I will be reporting on our interactions with the locals. So far the locals are very friendly to us. The unit we are replacing did a lot of work laying the foundation for a very good relationship. We are also doing what they call return to normalcy. Basically we are letting the locals do things like share the road with us, we have to stop at traffic stops and such. In other words, we are not as aggressive as we were. Flyers were distrubuted throughout the region to the locals explaining all of this and they seem to appreciate it.
