Many - including Republicans - today have denounced McCain for stoking the fires of hatred.
When asked if there was precedent for stoking this kind of hatred, presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin said yes. And then she tied a few things together I sure hadn't. She said *the world* was in a very similar position as in the 30s with a global economic crisis. And then she said a global economist crisis, and the fear it generates, enabled Hitler to use hatred to come to power blaming the crisis on, of course, Jews. The good news is that McCain has very slowly today tried to begin to put the genie back in the bottle. But are we recreating the factors that led to the extermination of 6,000,000 jews? And I don't mean just McCain's use of hatred, but I mean is the world ripe again for this? So soon??? My grandmother - from the greatest generation - is still alive! And we're already back to 1938?
