Institutional investors can be forced to sell if a decent number of people want some or all of their money and this can be a month-to-month thing or a quarter-to-quarter thing. That is, if a bunch of people have put in their cash out request the fund will be forced to sell stocks to come up with the cash. That, of course, will drive prices into the tank. Not a problem if you're buying for the long haul unless the stock you pick goes down in flames like AIG. Dropping stock puts pressure on companies since they can't raise money and that only adds to the problems. But you can invest in index funds or ETFs or SPDRs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:273485 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
