A few of you were into Citizen Cope so I thought I'd post that the
show was freaking amazing. The venue seats 3000, and I don't think
the show was actually sold out when I walked in but it looked full to
me by the time he went on stage. I grabbed a beer and my girlfriend
got a wine. There were a few hundred seats on the floor in front of
the stage but they were already full. We found a (general admission)
seat that was just to the left of center and about halfway up the seat
risers.

The crowd was really a good deal younger than I expected. Mostly
early 20s, which for some reason I didn't expect. A great balance of
male and female fans. This show was no sausage-fest, and the crowd's
overall talent level was high.

Started out a little slow and soft - acoustic. Some good songs, but
he was just warming up, and so was the crowd. Everyone sat for the
first 3 or so songs, then he definitely started picking up the pace.
There was a mic he was singing into and then a second mic at the back
of the stage that he's walk back to between songs to give instructions
to his sound guy (who was down below us to our right).

A few songs in they started laying down some background drum tracks
for him to play over and he started playing some of his faster louder
songs. Right about then the crowd on the floor started standing up
and the entire venue went crasy and I don't really think anyone sat
down again.

He only sang one song. The rest were existing album songs. The new
song was decent, but it was kinda quiet and the crowd wasn't in the
mood to be quiet by the time he played it.

Sideways was the encore and he actually did a sorta mini second encore
when he started walking away at the end of the encore and stopped and
turned around to play one more song. That's probably the loudest I
heard the crowd the whole time.

A decent amount of crowd interaction, and he appeared to be in a very
good and mellow mood. Cope said he was losing his voice a bit and
kept eating spoonfulls of honey during the show. He made a comment
about how "it's funny that your voice sounds the coolest right before
you lose it". Then he started singing again....

It was a very good show. If he's headed to your town I definitely
recommend going.
