Universal health care is an admirable goal. How we pay for it and what we cover are the questions. Primary care, especially for children, should be freely available. My wife (who spent a long time in the health care industry) thinks that it would be very difficult to get doctors for those facilities- no one wants to work them. Do we import a wave of foreign physicians, as we did when her father came here? How much would it cost? Tens of billions at least. Where does the money come from? We are already underwater financially. There are only three serious places to cut the budget - Social Security, Medicare, and Defense. Everything else is chump change individually. You could eliminate the Defense Department completely and we would still be running a deficit. Plus we would be totally screwed, but that's another story. > Seriously though, I think that everyone wants to see small business > succeed. There are competing theories on how best to achieve that. The top 2% of small businesses by revenue account for 56% of small business revenues and 16 million jobs. Those folks will be punished by the Obama tax plan. They are the engines of growth in our economy. We're talking about local factories, professional organizations such as law firms and consultancies, and yes, plumbing and HVAC businesses. Let's keep their taxes as is, not raise them. That's the last thing we want to do in a recession. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:276500 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
