Yeah - they were good. My kids also loved the "builder" software that came
with a big plastic attachment for the keyboard (levers and wheels and such):
there was a "Tonka" one and a "Thomas" one and so forth.

The "Sesame and Me" (I think) software was also very nice in that it had a
"parents" mode specifically designed for parents to do with the kids.

As an aside tho', you might also consider using Virtual PC or VMWare (both
are free I believe) to set up virtual PC's for this software. Creating the
initial PC is a pain, but you can save the "blank" PC and make as many
copies as you need. Kiddy software (even the good stuff) is often,
technically-speaking, crap. Installing even a few titles will almost always
result in demands to adjust resolution or color-depth or install several
completely incompatible versions of QuickTime (MS has nothing on QuickTime
for Windows when it comes to crappy, domineering, completely useless
software) and video drivers.

Installing them to a VPC allows you to just delete the "PC" when the tide of
crap breaches the walls.

Secondarily it's also nice because (almost) no matter what the kids the kids
do the PC you can always just close down the emulator, make a new copy of
the root image and be good to go in minutes.

It was really a lifesaver for me. The emulated VPC video card isn't going
to provide the oomph for more modern or 3D games, but it's perfect for the
kind of 2D kiddy titles that we've been talking about.
