I didn't actually say that it agreed or disagreed with me. I said that
the report is likely to come to the conclusions that the group wants
it to have.

If I say "I believe in X, lets make a study to look for X", chances
are good that your study will conclude that X exists. Not 100% certain
of course, but when you build the desired conclusion into the premise
of a study, it isn't really an unbiased study.

As for my own belief, I do think there is a bias in popular media, but
I don't tend to think that it is a liberal/conservative bias so much
as a corporate bias. I've stated this quite clearly before, but I
think that most of the popular media organizations are out there to
make money. Investigative reporting tends to be expensive and often
times doesn't yield a great deal of reward for the effort. Its a
drain on the bottom line. So fewer and fewer people are allowed to do
it and the decisions of corporate higher-ups become more influencial.

I do think that you have some explicit political bias on the part of,
say, Fox News, but I don't think that it is quite so much because of
raw ideology on the part of Murdoch, but rather because there is a
market for it. They've tried it on the other side with Air America
which seems to have been less than outrageously successful. You also
see it happening to some extent on MSNBC with Olbermann and Maddow
going back to back now. That seems to be being more successful.

At the end of the day though I think that the modern popular media
landscape is shaped more by corporate interests than ideological
interests and I think that the reporting reflects that.
