Oh, and it saddled us with Social Security and Medicare, which >are going to bankrupt the wealthiest country on the planet, but that's >another story.
Say what? Lets see, at the height of the depression (~1932) before the New Deal was started and before Roosevelt was elected, unemployment was almost 25%, over 1400 banks failed, and GNP had fallen by a third. In 1939, the year that is generally accepted when the depression ended, manufacturing shot up by over 50%, unemployment was down to 17.3% and GNP rises 7.9% So as you were saying... If you're going to make statements like that, at least get them right. In other words you're completely wrong. http://www.hyperhistory.com/online_n2/connections_n2/great_depression.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:278125 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
