Why, they do that all the time. You may only hear about the cases you think are 
egregious, but they also defend free speech rights for everyone. And are 
willing to take any case involving freedoms and equal rights regardless of 
public sentiment or their own so-called liberal sensibilities. That's the great 
thing about the ACLU.
