I have Packet8 in my home office and is great if you have more then 3 extensions... We are a totally remote operation so it is nice to be able to have a Virtual PBX that we can dial each others extensions and transfer calls. It works much like Vonage but you have 2 pieces, a router and an actual phone that is Packet8 branded.
We have vonage in the house and I have it hooked up in the wire closet so it goes to all the phone jacks. To be honest with you I forget that we actually use Vonage since the service is so great. As long as you have a stable internet connection, and we even have Comcast and it is not the most stable, you are not going to have any issues. I have been a long-time Vonage users, off and on for about 5 years, and just am I now comfortable making it the sole home line. Oh and I think we pay $21.90 after tax for the line... WAY cheaper then BellSouth was with Internet + Phone. J.J.
