I think it's awesome that they are going solar and LED lights and that the tree gets re-purposed.
I always loved NYC at Christmas time. the smell of the pine from street-side tree vendors and skating at Rockefeller center. An ex and me (years ago) had supper one night at the restaurant down by the skating rink. We sat at a window seat and got to watch all the skaters. Beautiful.
