Hell, brother: self-examination is hard enough, public self-examination deserves nothing but praise. ;^) There's a basic concept in skeptical circles that everybody eventually has to deal with: the "Sacred Cow". It's just the idea that everybody has at least one (if not several) basically irrational ideas that they hold dear and don't hold to the same standards as other ideas. It doesn't matter how smart you are, how critical, skeptical, etc. - some things you just "know" (or at least "want to be true"). The perfectly intelligent doctor that should know better but still believes in Homeopathy. The brilliant astronomer that believes in alien abduction. The skeptic that fights against both but still think that "9/11 was an inside job". One of the hardest things about being a good skeptic is identifying your own personal sacred cows. Knowing what they are might not change your mind about them - but knowing what they are puts you ahead of the game in any case. I'm not implying that you're trying to be a good skeptic - but if you ever decide to this kind of thinking will give you a good start. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:281117 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
