I love my Asus K8N-DL.  I've had it for a few years in my workstation, but
with several firmware upgrades it's still very relevant.

It's got dual Opteron sockets (dual-core capable for up to four cores).  It
has six DDR RAM slots (total of 24 Gig of memory possible).  The chipset is
nForce 4 Professional.   It's got both nForce and Silicon Image SATA
chipsets for a total of up to 8 Drives.

It's been absolutely rock solid for me and since it's an older model you
should be able to find it for a steal.

I'm sure that ASUS has probably come out with several newer models - if any
of them are compared favorably to the K8N-DL, consider them.  ;^)
