Completely irrelevant to the point at hand, which maybe the point. But I often feel like these news stories are written with the 'word count' mentality of a 3rd grade report. Otherwise what relevancy is there to this sentance in the 3rd to last paragraph. "He and his wife, Patti, have two daughters."
