I would think it would have to be easier to go back to a restore point
before the infection - there should be one (a restore point is generally
created during each "patch Tuesday").

I'm just surprised that a) you got it in Vista (people might bitch, but UAC
has protected me very well with no AV on my system) and b) that such a
bastard of a program hasn't been picked apart and an uninstall routine
developed.

If can restore back or need to reinstall I'd suggest setting up your machine
to "base" as much as possible then doing a backup.  I generally use Norton
Ghost for this but I've actually really to come to like the Vista built in
backup (backups are saved as virtual hard disk files which can be loaded
into any VM - pretty slick).

If you get hit again you may still have to start fresh but not as fresh as a
clean install.
