That would be weird, if true. Blagojevich has been under investigation
for a long time and everyone knew it. Its been an open secret for
months that he'd probably get nailed for some form of bribery. Why
would Jackson (or someone on his behalf) proposition a guy that they
know is going down? And that ABC article notes that Blagojevich is
threatening the Obama campaign (that guy really is a nutjob) with
appointing Candidate #5:

According to the affidavit, Blagojevich threatened to appoint Senate
Candidate No. 5 if President-elect Obama refused to help get his wife
on "paid corporate boards right now."

"If they feel like they can do this and not f-- give me anything then
I'll f-- go [Senate Candidate 5]."

But Jackson is someone that the Obama campaign supported and Jackson
was an early supporter of theirs. How would it be a threat to appoint
Jackson if Obama didn't play ball? The Obama campaign would presumably
be quite happy if Jackson was appointed to the seat.

Something doesn't add up here.
