Oh come on, that was not what I said at all. But there's a big difference between peaceful protests and some of the stuff we've been seeing, with G/L groups storming into churches during services. Every time I read about that I shake my head and wonder if they *really* think that is going to help solve the problem. Attacking people's religious beliefs will *never* work and it really gives a lot more ammunition to the opposition in this case. > They see that fundamental rights are involved and that society has been > having a gradual shift and there is just no holding back the tide > anymore. Hhm, the recent votes in states like California would argue otherwise. That's my point. The majority of people believe in civil rights for gays...and yet still vote against gay marriage. Clearly the right message isn't getting through. > The only way that this is going to happen is for the courts to rule > that there is no lawful reason to discriminate against sexual > orientation and that it denies fundamental humans rights. They've tried...that's essentially what happened in California and then the voters overturned it. I expect we'll get there eventually...but I have a feeling it will take another generation. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:282725 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
