I could see that.  Most of the rules in ColdFusion are just good common
sense but you'll get into arguments with believers in other languages that
they CLEARLY came from those languages.  ColdFusion, however, follows them
because they make sense, not because it has to.  When new good ideas appear
ColdFusion is generally willing to accept them (quickly) as there's almost
nothing that it holds sacred about itself.

It's also able to work with most languages pretty easily - even those
traditionally at odds.  Its generally much more concerned with getting the
job done than with artificial limits or rules although it does respect those
rules be being versatile enough to support them if you like.

Lastly it's a rather contained, specialty language often misunderstood,
feared or even mocked by more mainstream languages for lacking things they
consider absolutely neccessary.  But for those that bother to learn more
about it they'll find it much more enriching than they thought possible and
will often look back and wonder why they thought those things in the first
place.

ColdFusion is Atheism... or at least secular agnotism. ;^)
