Oh, how wonderful.

Barbara Morgan, the Idaho schoolteacher who was the backup to Christa
McAuliffe on the ill-fated Challenger space shuttle launch in 1986, has been
scheduled for a shuttle flight in 2004.

She is now a full-time member of the NASA astronaut corps (although required
to maintain her teaching credential).

NASA has added "teacher" to the list of professional specialties from which
it will draw candidates as professional astronauts.
