Erika, The camera is the USB version Logitech VC, a real basic model - I think they go for about $50 or so. The software came with the camera. I set the camera to take a picture every few seconds, then the ftp utility uploads the image to the server. Its very simple. The most difficult thing about the whole process was finding a camera mount that I could clamp on the side of the ferrets' cage.
