Mint uses www.yodlee.com to secure the financial data. It's a direct behind the scenes pass to Yodlee from what I hear. Yodlee has been in business for years as a financial data company.
If that's any comfort. :) One nice thing about mint is that you can see everything - bank accounts, savings account, investment accounts, credit cards, loans, etc, through a single login. So you know in a glance your entire financial net worth. And if you use a budget, you can see instantly where you are over. Pretty slick overall. Decent user forum.
