So, last week all of the sudden, none of our dial up users could get to Hotmail. Hotmail being fairly popular you can imagine the amout of calls we got. Well the problem stretched on for about a week and we actually lost a few customers over it. It took us a week to find someone at Hotmail and get someone to tell us why. Apparently one of our dialup users was trying to brute force hack Hotmail. So we started pouring over the logs and traced back the phone number the hacks were coming from. So we called up the number today and talked to the guy who answered. The number is his sons phone line... The guy was super pissed, and said something to the effect of "I'm 55 years old, I'm from the old school. I'm going to take care of him!". That kids gonna get it :) So the guy called back and said he ripped the kids line out and took the computer and is waiting for him to get home from school.
Ahhh Sysadmin's strike back! :) jon ______________________________________________________________________ Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
