To be fair. The President is really part of fiscal policy. The impact he has on monetary policy pretty much ends after he appoints a Fed Chairman. This is the way it was designed so the Fed Presidents can make policy without partisan interests. Remember when W praised Bernanke's first decisions. He was semi-crucified by financial reporters because it is understood the President should neither applaud or boo (can't think of a better term) decisions made by the Fed Chair because he his lack of applause later may upset the markets.
