Well the software I was using said it had found almost 100,000 files and
then I started going through the list and the server shut down for some
reason. I'm waiting for someone to get their butt to work to turn it back on
for me.

This is what we used, I believe:  http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

I like to use a data-visualization tool (like this:
http://windirstat.info/) to sift through the recovered files after.
