Listen? Yes. Follow? No. They are paid to be leaders after all.

If you don't like how your rep lead, then vote them out. If everyone
in Congress did whatever polling of their constituents wanted, lets
just get rid of Congress and have a direct democracy. It would be
cheaper. I think it would also suck more, though with the advent of
the Internet, a lot more information and analysis is available to the
masses. So how knows where it will lead.
