I think I wrote about this before but....

A long time ago I wrote a batch file that would run the shut down function
in windows. I would place it in the start up menu of someones computer and
just sit back and watch. Imagine your computer booting up completly and then
saying "Windows is shutting down.". Now repeat 10x and you would not believe
how angry people get :-)

My only good pranks were in our CLIP class. I edited one guys browser page
so that instead of Yahoo! he got Yeehaw! (he was supposed to go work in WV)
with lots of fake stuff on the page like Entertainment - hunting, chawing,
drinking; Society & Culture - hunting, dating your relatives; etc. It was
very amusing ... well, to me anyway. The other thing I did was make a VB
overlay of his desktop so that if he tried to click on things he got little
popup messages. That one drove him crazy.

Oh, the good old days.

My pranks are less internet geeky, but I once added my bosses name to Word's
autocorrect function so that whenever he typed "Steve Wiener" (his name) it
would automatically replace with "Overinflated Egotistical Bastard with No
Conscience".

the other good prank is to remotely change the messages on the network
printers. If you sit near them you can have conversations with the printer
users who believe that the printer is talking back. Generally they speak
aloud to the computer, I have no idea why.

I killed a job and put "hey you are working me too hard" as the printer
message. user comes up, looks for job and sees "hey you are working me too
hard" as message.

User: Who? Me?
Printer: Yes You.
User: Who is doing that?
Printer: Doing what?
User: I have a presentation due.
Printer: Well, I am tired.
User: Cmon!
Printer: ZZZZ

It went downhill from there.
