I took my family to Pasadena for the weekend. We saw friends and had a good time. We were planning on staying for the day today and seeing some sights, but the rain started early and hard, so we decided to come back to San Diego. We took the 210 east from Pasadena to the 57 south, then to the 5 south, a bit out of the way but basically all so we could avoid central Los Angeles, which apparently is a total mess with the rain.
On the way, we lost track of the number of accidents we saw on the side of the road (including two that had the entire freeway stopped in one direction) and the number of times our car hydroplaned on water coursing across the freeway.
