Yeah, I've been following it. I'm not sure I trust the numbers on
either side. I support a raise in the beer tax, it makes sense to me.
And the beverage distribution lobby in Oregon is a slimy bunch. They
were notorious for sending state legislators on junkets to Hawaii and
similar stunts until ethics rules were really clamped down on
recently. But a raise of a $1.50 a pint? Ouch. I'm guessing that
figure is probably alarmist though, just like I don't trust the claim
of $0.15.

I'd support a raise of 10 or 20% in the tax, no problems. It would
suck, but this is certainly a time of fiscal crisis. I can't see the
Legislature passing a 1900% raise though. They like to drink a lot and
don't get paid much. I will be calling my reps though.
