They do stand up
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/18/opinion/18friedman.html?_r=1

There are those in the Muslim world ready and willing to stand up to
terrorism. There are 9 terrorist bodies sitting in a morgue as proof of
this. Who is standing up? The leadership of India's Muslim community.

"People who committed this heinous crime cannot be called Muslim, Hanif
Nalkhande, a spokesman for the trust, told The Times of London. Eventually,
one assumes, they will have to be buried, but the Mumbai Muslims remain
defiant.

Indian Muslims are proud of being both Indian and Muslim, and the Mumbai
terrorism was a war against both India and Islam, explained M.J. Akbar, the
Indian-Muslim editor of Covert, an Indian investigative journal. Terrorism
has no place in Islamic doctrine. The Koranic term for the killing of
innocents is 'fasad.' Terrorists are fasadis, not jihadis. In a beautiful
verse, the Koran says that the killing of an innocent is akin to slaying the
whole community. Since the ... terrorists were neither Indian nor true
Muslims, they had no right to an Islamic burial in an Indian Muslim
cemetery."
---
A few more challenges to the cults of martyrdom and jihad may well reduce
the number of people being recruited for terrorist attacks. The feeling of
support from the Muslim community has always been an important element in
recruitment.

Dalai Lama - Non-violence cannot tackle terrorism
http://www.ndtv.com/convergence/ndtv/story.aspx?id=NEWEN20090080421

Even the Dalai Lama thinks that terrorism is a problem and has gone so far
as to say that "terrorism cannot be tackled by applying the principle of
ahimsa because the minds of terrorists are closed"
---
"It is difficult to deal with terrorism through non-violence, the Tibetan
spiritual leader said delivering the Madhavrao Scindia Memorial Lecture in
Delhi. He termed terrorism as the worst kind of violence which is not
carried by a few mad people but by those who are very brilliant and
educated.

They (terrorists) are very brilliant and educated...but a strong ill feeling
is bred in them. Their minds are closed, the Dalai Lama said. He said the
only way to tackle terrorism is through prevention..."
---
Prevent people from becoming terrorists through education and the thread of
excommunication from the greater Muslim community will reduce those with
closed minds. Unfortunately, as the next article shows, there are those in
the greater Muslim community, religious leaders, who feel that terrorism is
the way.

Global Anti-Aggression Campaign for Jihad
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7895485.stm

"At a weekend meeting in Istanbul, 200 religious scholars and clerics met
senior Hamas officials to plot a new jihad centered on Gaza...The
conference, dubbed the Global Anti-Aggression Campaign..."
Let me see if I get this straight. We have the leaders of Islam not looking
for life or the growth of their people but instead are asking for their
future to die. That's basically what they are saying.
---
"Mohammed Nazzal, a senior Hamas leader based in Damascus, challenged Arab
governments to open their borders and allow the fighters to come.

Delegates from all over the Middle East, and from Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan
and Indonesia applauded as he stabbed the air with a raised finger and
declared: There will be no agreement with Israel... only weapons will bring
respect."

Mr Nazzal told his audience: Don't worry about casualties."
---
This is the same thing that keeps the middle east at war. The famous three
no's.
No peace with Israel, No recognition of Israel, No negotiations with Israel
Three No's in response would be:
No future for their children other than hate and war, No advancement as they
send the cream of their youth to death, No recognition as a religion of
peace as long as they use the religion as an excuse for death. The Indian
Muslim community recognizes this, why can't these so called scholars and
clerics? Closed minds.

The truth is out - No UN school shelled
http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/45884734/critiques/new/Did_Israel_Shell_a_UN_School_The_Truth_Exposed.asp

One of the biggest lies of Israel's recent conflict with Hamas was that
Israel deliberately shelled a UN school, killing 43 civilians. Unfortunately
for those who vocally supported the event, it was a lie. The shells did not
hit the UN school or kill anyone inside. I wonder if/when the UN will
apologize for their quick assumption of guilt.
Investigations are still going on with one blog post I read saying that the
actual death toll was 9, 3 of whom were civilians. Until I see an official
post of this I'll have to stay with the 43 civilians, 43 people who should
still be alive if not for Hamas using them as human shields. Yes, I blame
Hamas. Israel pulled the trigger but Hamas aimed the gun.
Schmucks
