If corporate apologies were issued because an error was perceived by the
company, for which amends were warranted, I would agree with you.

But obviously, any and every corporate mea-culpa that has ever been offered
was done so for one reason: money. The need to appease those who might give
us money. If they perceive wrong, then we must allay that....doesn't matter
how we actually feel about the situation.
