My understanding is that it is relatively easy to find a friendly
physician. It depends on your location and your condition though. I
have not done it myself as while I'm sure I probably qualify due to
persistent muscle spasms and severe pain, marijuana just makes me
sleepy so its not something I do anymore. My friend with MS had a
doctor certify that they felt it would help her muscle spasms (which
it does) and help with the pain. Then she submitted the application
with the attending physicians certification and that was all there
really was to it. You do need to have an annual recertification I
believe. There are a couple of clinics that specialize in helping
medical marijuana patients. One that I've seen advertised fairly often
and heard fairly good things about is Mama's Medical Marijuana Clinic
( http://www.mamas.org/Clinics.htm ).
