My understanding is that it is relatively easy to find a friendly physician. It depends on your location and your condition though. I have not done it myself as while I'm sure I probably qualify due to persistent muscle spasms and severe pain, marijuana just makes me sleepy so its not something I do anymore. My friend with MS had a doctor certify that they felt it would help her muscle spasms (which it does) and help with the pain. Then she submitted the application with the attending physicians certification and that was all there really was to it. You do need to have an annual recertification I believe. There are a couple of clinics that specialize in helping medical marijuana patients. One that I've seen advertised fairly often and heard fairly good things about is Mama's Medical Marijuana Clinic ( http://www.mamas.org/Clinics.htm ).
If you are interested in basic statistics on how many card holders there are and for what conditions, Oregon's DHS has that info online: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/ommp/data.shtml Judah On Fri, Feb 27, 2009 at 9:59 AM, Erika L.
