He left out the rest of the quote: "behind us". You see, all of our children - and us - will be paying the "Bush tax" for the rest of our lives. Why? Because personal debt grew from about 50% of GDP in 2000 to 100% in 2008. You know the last time the US had 100% debt? The Great Depression. Hoover, a Republican, made the depression great. Bush, a Repubican, made the 2008 depression. The only question now is will we recover or not? Either way the American tax payer will be paying down a large majority of that debt and therefore it shall be known as the Bush Tax. But one thing is clear: Obama owns the future, recover or no. So we all better damn well hope he succeeds and we better help him once he chooses a direction. We can question all we want until he picks the direction, but once he does we should all be good soldiers and follow orders or we're gonna get wiped out. And that ain't hyperbole.
