i used to be a big advocate of picking things like this up on ebay. picked
up an 8 gig a while back... forget how much, but it was a decent price. but
a generic "no name" brand.
my audio receiver/dvd combo has a usb slot. had issues with it playing
video off of that stick. videos would freeze up halfway thru.

after that bought a sandisk cruzer. have had zero issues with it.

i don't generally get hung up on brand names... and maybe i just got a bad
stick (which also happens with brand names), but that experience did make me
a little bit leery.
