i used to be a big advocate of picking things like this up on ebay. picked up an 8 gig a while back... forget how much, but it was a decent price. but a generic "no name" brand. my audio receiver/dvd combo has a usb slot. had issues with it playing video off of that stick. videos would freeze up halfway thru.
after that bought a sandisk cruzer. have had zero issues with it. i don't generally get hung up on brand names... and maybe i just got a bad stick (which also happens with brand names), but that experience did make me a little bit leery.
