I'm gonna piggyback on this thread, 'cuz there's something i've not yet been
able to figure out and it's tangentially related :)
I've got a shortcut to my hosts file on my desk. Every time I double click
it, it asks what app I want to use to open the file. I choose Notepad, but
it doesn't give me the option of "Always use this application to open this
file".

Win XP and Vista both. Any thoughts on how to set notepad as the default
app for opening the shortcut to the hosts file?
