My parent's (now deceased) Golden used to turn her head away when my dad
would ask her to do something she didn't want to do.  It was too funny, like
she thought if she turned her head away and avoided eye contact, she'd think
she was fakin him out by pretending not to hear.

That was all when she was older though. Like she was saying "look, I have
been a great, obedient dog my whole life, but I'm retired now, and I'm not
taking any more of this shit from you".
