And from the headline I thought you were talking about islam, silly me.

The sample (742) was really too small to draw any serious conclusions, and when 
broken down by religious affiliation, its even smaller. That said, I suspect 
that it isn't the religious affiliation but the political orientation of the 
person. a few points on this. 

First the percentage of Republicans are almost the same as evangelicals in the 
study. Republicans had almost the same percentage favoring torture (actually it 
was a higher percentage). 

Finally evangelicals in the sample were almost entirely republican. So it adds 
up to a fairly consistent result. The study found that Republicans favor 
torture rather than Christians in general or rather Christians who attend 
church more often.
