So what's the magic number of lives to save versus torturability? 1? 5? 100? So long as it's thousands, you are cool with "whatever means necessary"? Do you know how many people die in the US every day? Every year? What is your time-span? I'm wondering how long until, to "save thousands of lives", we start seeing some other unspeakable things happen.
