I don't really use Tortoise, though it's installed.  I haven't seen
the behavior you are referring to, though I trust it would happen if I
had more projects.

I just hate having to remember commends.  I have a hard enough time
remembering passwords after going on vacation for a week or two - much
less a buncha command line args that I might not use for a month at
times.
