So unlike my previous post, I am not playing devils advocate, this is base on a personal observation.
Yesterday I was watching CNN, and one of the stories was about what is happening tomorrow, which is the US forces pulling back from the Iraqi cities back into our FOBS, and letting the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) take control of security in their cities. One sentence that the reporter said was "We are abandoning the Iraqi's". What they did not report though was the full story. So today on Fox News, they actually did report the whole story. Never once did the Fox reporter say we were abandoning the Iraqi's, which we are not doing bye the way. What they said was exactly what we are doing. We are pulling out of the Iraqi cities, per the security agreement that was signed by the US AND the Iraqi's, which clearly states we are to be out of the cities by tomorrow. They also reported that while we are letting the ISF take over security, we are here to provide a training and support role, which we have been doing for months now. And although we are not going to be actively patrolling inside the cities, we are going to take care of security in the cities belt lines, or outer cordon, basically keeping the insurgents out of the city. And most importantly, if the ISF needs our help on anything, they call us and we put together the required resources. They can also ask for helicopter and UAV support as well. So why does one agency report half the story, and the other reports the whole story. Weird. And I am not giving away national secrets. All of what I have said was broadcast on national TV as well as in the papers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
