I figured it out. To activate the Framework, you need to go into Control Panel and use Turn Features On/Off. There is one there for Dot Net. You *cannot* download the dotnetfx35.exe file as you had to do in Vista. It runs, but it will not install anything. I also got the DotNet 1.1 sp1 redistributable setup. Thankies all :)
