So, I was watching Sports Center this morning when they showed some clips of President Obama before the game. He was in the locker room talking with the players and I noticed that he had a very comfortable air about him. He was talking to these guys like he, himself, was 'one of the guys'. He greeted Albert Pujols with hand shake and a 'one-armed man hug/chest dump'. It also seemed as if he was as awestruck to meet some of these guys as they were to meet him. It just seemed so...ionno...unpresidential, but in a very cool way.
However, the one thing that I was really impressed by was that he was wearing a White Sox jacket. When he was asked about it he said 'Well, I am a White Sox fan...'. I gotta say, this is a far cry from the drivel we used to get about the president wanting the best team to win, blah, blah, blah. I like that he is kind of saying, 'I am not going to let being president stop me from rooting for my team, even if it pisses off half of Chicago' (which, by the way, it shouldn't). I just thought those 2 things were kind of cool, and definitely showed me why people are drawn to him. I guess I needed to see him in an area (sports) of which I am more familiar in order to see it. I still disagree with some of his policies, but I think I have more respect for him than I did yesterday. -- Scott Stroz --------------- The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. - Thomas Jefferson http://xkcd.com/386/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
