Please show me where I said that. Because I do not see where I said
the cops should get away with any inappropriate behavior. All I was
saying is that it seems like a lot of people are already convinced of
the guilt of the police in this instance without knowing the facts.
You admitted as much in your last post.

According to your logic, if someone has a history of a certain
behavior, its OK to believe they did it again without so much as an
investigation.

If it is true that the cops harassed him after he showed ID, then they
are fucktards and deserve any punishment they get. I am also not
excusing their behavior if Gates spouted off first, merely suggesting
that if he spouted off first, then he bears some blame for the
situation.

Sometimes the situation is made worse by ignorance of the parties
involved. On one call I was on in what could be best described as a
'project building', a friend of the patient filed a complaint with my
company calling me a racist because I did not run into the house to
help. Here are the issues with that philosophy:

1. Its not advisable to run into any call. It makes you look out of
control and can potentially put you in a dangerous situation before
you can analyze it.
2. There was absolutely no way I could have know the color of the
patient's skin before actually seeing them.

What sucked is because the guy lodging the complaint did not
understand the SOPs of being a medic, I had to suffer through the
bullshit of meeting with my superiors almost daily, sitting in on
several meetings with lawyers, and even being moved off of that medic
unit for a few weeks while it was all worked out.
